Similarities between the Basque and Hungarian languages

• "k" is used to denote the plural of words, like

  Basque: etxea/exteak (hous/houses)

  Hungarian: turista/turisták (tourist/tourists)

• Intstead of prepositions, suffixes are used:

  Basque: -en means "in"

  Hungarian: -ban/-ben means "in", -on/-en/-ön means "on"

  In certain cases, there is even coincidence:

  "In Budapest" is "Budapesten" in both languages.

  Basque:-ra means "to"

  Hungarian: -ra/re means "onto", -ról/ről means "from"

  The Basque "motorrera" means "to the motor".

  The Hungarian "motorra" means "onto the motor".

• There are similar words, however, with different meaning:
